About Us
The Women's Health Clinic is made up of specially trained registered nurses who provide a free and confidential service for women. The service aims to improve the health and wellbeing of women in rural and remote areas of Queensland. We support all women, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and those from multicultural backgrounds.
Services we provide
The service provides a range of clinical health services, support, health promotion and education on a range of topics for women including:
- Alcohol and other drugs concerns
- Bladder concerns
- Breast care
- Cervical screening
- Contraception and family planning
- Healthy bones / osteoporosis
- Healthy lifestyles, including nutrition, weight and stress management
- Menopause and hormone replacement information
- Puberty / menstrual issues
- Relationship concerns, including domestic violence and sexual assault
- Sexual health screening (limited)
- Sexuality concerns
- Smoking
- Any other issues you’d like to discuss
