Our multi-cultural drum and dance incursions give the learner an experience of in-the-moment music making through Southern and West African singing, dancing and drumming. Students will learn culturally specific parts on the popular djembe drum, traditional dance moves and gain knowledge of African culture and insight into the dynamics of a percussion ensemble. Drumming together as a group develops listening and cooperation skills, hand eye coordination and self empowerment. Its learning and health benefits are well documented and growing. We can provide performances, workshops, drum circles or a combination of both where the whole group/school is involved. Our performers and workshop facilitators are experts in making people of all ages and abilities feel confident and included.
